Considering your taste for cracky manips, pop art seemed appropriate! Now that you've convinced me to add Nate/Vanessa to my Nate+ shipping vocabulary, I have an elaborate AU elaborating in my brain - one of those hip urban couples who are into the eco-glamorous lifestyle like Leo and Gisele (Bar is largely irrelevant but I digress). Van'd teach him how to read and Nate'd buy her a charity; she'd buy him a clue and he'd teach her how to roll a perfect joint and not to think. They'd have massive amounts of just south of vanilla sex and he'd be her date to the Oscars because don't forget, Ralph Lauren adores Nate. I'm a little bit in love with their alternative future :)

David LaChapelle is one of my favorite photographers, hands down. He is famous for futuristic fashion shoots which often involve an exaggerated view on celebrity lifestyle. David's work is a surrealist, candy-colored, grotesque celebration of the artificial; his first job was with Andy Warhol after they met in Studio54. I love him for creating this bright world, so beautiful and flooded with neon light yet leaving you with the feeling that something has gone wrong.
