This is the story of pining and of the uninvited boners, of your crush getting in your personal space and of you saying the dumbest things while all your friends going 'oh come onnnn'. There's this incredible sense of Idris Elba's physical presence, and this man is delicious. It gives me thirst for public makeouts! I am SO grateful the writer picked my prompt! Imagine going 'I really want this thing but literally no-one else cares about this fandom of one'? And then someone swoops in and writes it for you for Yuletide, and it's per-fect, and you're suddenly made only of feels, and hugs, and puppies.

• This Air So Free, Boardwalk Empire, Jimmy Darmody/Pearl + Richard Harlow, mature.
What would happen if Jimmy Darmody didn't go to war? This story still takes Jimmy on a tour of his show arc, but as a person with a different life experience. And then, there's a girl, and there's an inspiring book, and there's a friend, - and so, there's hope. I was on the edge of my seat until the last moment, but the writer saved three of my faves and put them on a roadtrip to California, away from the gangster hell. Just like in the book that Jimmy and Pearl were reading on the show! What's amazing about it is the abundance of historical detail and the depth of relationships, especially in found families vs. biological ones. It's like reading an unaired episode!

My recip appears to like her story, and I couldn't wish for more :)

I didn't get a chance to read much else, but I'm excited for reading TONS of fic during those two long roadtrips that are coming for me over the weekend and New Year's. OM NOM NOM, I WILL EAT YULETIDE LIKE CANDY. THERE WILL BE RECS.

Randomly, I have a tiiiiny (understatement!) thing for offbeat Christmas movies, and this year, I discovered The Family Stone. Let me go sob in the corner. This? Is not a comedy the trailer wants you to believe. This stupid movie gets to me so much, urgh, it should be illegal. Let me go cry again. Otherwise, we are just hanging out around the house today with the little guy as he's gleefully pilfering ornaments from the Christmas tree.
