There are stray animals of all kinds and hand-holding, omg. There's a spider doing a mating dance for Marcus and thug hedgehogs doing unspeakable things to Clyde, a ferret who needs a shower and a hipster pig standing up to Papa Holmes. And a heartbreaking dog that causes all this hand-holding that I'M LOVING. Hilarious and heart-wrenching. A candy cane of a story in my favoritest canon for years, and my heart has exploded into the teeny-tiny heart-shaped confetti by the end of it. And I'm okay with that.

GAY ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE of my heart, super detailed worldbuilding and so much thought given to how a cop/former vet would adapt to this brand new world.
